About This Project

During his 22-year tenure as head coach of the Kearney Bearcat Basketball program, Coach Kyle Hoehner compiled the official history of KHS Basketball and created and maintained the program’s record book—ensuring the accomplishments of Bearcat teams and players are preserved and celebrated for future generations.

In 2015, stewardship of the record book was passed to Doug Koster (KHS Class of 1991), who continues to maintain and update it. In 2026, KearneyBasketballHistory.com was established to provide a permanent home for the record book. 

Updates are made approximately one month after each season, once all postseason awards have been announced, with additional updates made during the season as records are broken. The date of the last update can be found on the cover page of the PDF.
